tall tanks with sps

complete newbie, only have a small tank so far, but looking to get at least a 120g

but the tall tanks look better and would even fit better in my living room

will only be doing easy to keep corals for about the next year, then plan to step up to harder to keep sps etc.

does anyone have problems or success keeping sps in tall tanks? and also, would t5"s still work? I dont like the heat from MH's

extra equipment to keep the flow and oxygen levels up in the taller tank is not a concern

I don't like tall myself, you need more light power to get down to the bottom, you have less room under the stand for sump/equipement etc.. power heads are more noticable in a 4' tank than a 6', and I prefer the room for aqua scaping in a 6 footer than 4'. A few months ago I had to figure out if I was upgrading to a 90 or a 125, absolutly no one could recommend to me the 90 over the 125, so I got the 125 and I'm very happy I did. JMO

I don't like anything over ~ 25-26" deep myself. It's just too hard to get to the bottom when doing maintenance etc.. or just picking something up that's fallen.
