Tang attacked and wounded clown

This is a bit drawn out, buy I think its pertinent to the problem.
Two years ago acquired an orange skunk clown. he was placed in quarantine. A few days into it he developed fungal infection. Long story short, friend at LFS suggested pimafix-melafix, it worked. Six weeks later clown was in the 60gal display. Tang and clown had no issues.
Fast forward, divorce left me with all the tank contents but not the 60 gal. I was forced to down size. Net effect, clown and tang in 20gal.
Recently witnessed tang tail whipping the clown. clown now has wound near right gill and what appears to be the same fungus it had a couple years ago.
The tang was removed and put in QTN tank because of his aggressiveness. I think that if I would have removed the clown, the tang would have found someone else to pick on in "His" 20gal tank
I have reservations using pima and melafix in my display tank because of my xenia and mushrooms. The last time I used these products was in a stripped out QTR tank. Are these products safe for inverts???
Thanks ahead of time for everyone's input!!!!

P.S. 20gal tank is temporary. Will have a 180 up and running within the next 60days. Couple of mods on the sump and a few more bucks for the lights will have it running.
Thanks again to all!!!
