Hello,
I have a 60g and a 2" powder blue tang. I just bought a pearly jawfish and my tang is attacking it. I dont know what to do. I'm trying to find a bowl and an air pump to take the jawfish out till tomorrow. Any suggestions. The tang has been by itself for 3 weeks. The tang is active and happy usually, I dont know what to do.

powder blue tangs can behave aggresive to new tank mates espically in such a small tank.. I would return the tang its needs a much larger tank then you have. It will continue to harrass any new fish you try to add.

Hrrm, Im in the process of setting up a 100gallon, i appretiate your comments but need help in the meanwhile...

I dont think there is a quick fix. like yoboy said, in this size tank a PB will likely attack anything added. The tang shouldve been the last fish added, but even still, 60 or even 100 gallons is likely too small for this fishes size and temperament.

Meanwhile get rid of the PBT. As mentioned, they're aggressive, especially in a tank that size. Even in the 100g you'll find yourself very limited in regards to what else that fish will let you keep.

Very Sad... I went to a LFS and sold my PBT :( I really liked that guy, it was always excited to see me, it ate a lot, was extremely active and had gorgeous coloring. I hope in the future I can get another just like this one. Thanks for the help.. I wonder if a QT for a few weeks would have fixed the problem.

Established fish might become aggressive toward newcomers for the first few hours or days. My sailfin was really harsh on my longfin bannerfish the first couple of day and now they are best friends, swimming together. Sorry that you had to return your fish :/ It's always sad to let go what you love
