Ok so I read all the articles about curing this. I would like to know who has had it in their tank and what they have found to be the best and fastest way to cure it. This is my first encounter with it so please be descriptive. I don't want to open a can of worms here but just want ideas from real life people after reading the articles. Thanks

Well, if you want to be completely rid of parasites for good, you will have to follow the strict QT methods that are described on the threads on top. As far as quick, there are only 2 proven methods and they both consist of qt for up to 8 weeks. The number of visible spots is arbitrary considering there are a lot more you can't see in the gills, and the fact that within a few weeks they will reproduce and make 200 times more per existing individual parasite. Now You will only have to remove the fish, none of the inverts will be infected. Sad to say also, all of the "reef safe" and home remedies are not at all proven and some have been known to be dangerous. Clowns and Gobies have really good immunities to external parasites. But even the most healthiest fish eventually succumb to the disease . It's not what you want to hear, and there is no quick cures really to speak of. But there are really good, very effective and safe cures that with good discipline can almost certainly eliminate that brand of headache from your hobby. You want to spend more time wondering about what to do with all your grown out xenia than worrying about fish with parasite issues.
