I think LiveAquaria had some in their Diver's Den a while back... I think they were calling it a White Spine Tang, but I'm not certain.

HELLO....I said reminds me of the blonde naso.... not that it looks like or IS a naso. The color scheme... sheesh! Sensitive people.

Definitely not a jevu as its about 5-6in in length.

I thought it looked like that White Spine I saw in the Divers Den a few weeks back.

Yeah I couldn't remember if the white spine had a yellow or black tail though. The blue on the fins reminded me of it though.

Maby we should all make up a name together

and solve this problem once and for all!

i go with "black, blue tiped white spine tangy thing"

how bout a poll???

It is NOT a naso tang nor in the Bristletooth family. It is in the Acanthurus family though.

I believe it is a Ctenochaetus binotatus, which is in the bristletooth family. From WWM:

"One of six genera of acanthurids, Ctenochaetus comprises nine of the seventy-five or so described species of Surgeonfishes. Specialized mouths and teeth (cteno-chaetus means "comb bristle" define the genus’ members. Unlike other surgeons that have rigid, attached dentition, Ctenochaetus have movable, individual, bristle-like teeth. Coupled with a protrusible, outreaching mouth, these fishes use this unusual feeding device to sort and remove interstitial fauna, scrape soft algae, and "detritus" of nutritive value from rock and substrate. "

This does not look like any of the Acanthurus genus: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/acanthurtngs.htm
