Tang quarantine Questions!

Hello everybody! So recently I took my friends Macu tang off of his hands and put it in my quarantine tank. When I received his fish it had ich and he was trying to get rid of it. since i have had it i have seen no traces of ich on him or any other parasites. I have had him for about two weeks going on three and was wondering if it would be a smart idea to start thinking of when to add him to my main tank. There is nothing in the qt (copper or other meds) Just normal rodi water and seachem alpha. I do water changes on it about 2-3 times a week. He is acting completely normal, eats every time and almost anything i put in there for him/her and looks perfect. I was thinking about doing a few freshwater dips on him before I added him into the main tank just for a safety measure. What do you guys think? Thank you!

That was a good read. I have read some before but that one was very helpful. I have a question though, when I took my friends fish he did not have a spot on him. Could it be a possibility that I took the fish out when the parasites weren't on him and transferred him without or almost without any on him? I am going to continue to qt and eventually do a copper treatment on him if i do see signs of ich pop up on him around 4-5 weeks.

Lack of Visible signs of ich do not mean your fish does not have it. You have not treated the fish, so adding it to your display tank would add ich as well.

Sure. Ich just doesn't disappear. The tang needs to be treated before going into your DT.
