I have a Tang in QT and it's a bit hard to photograph but will do so on transfer to DT.
I am uncertain because of the contradictory info on the web and the apparently careless use of "white cheeked", "white faced" "powder brown" etc etc..
This fish certainly has a white cheek patch under the eye which does not extend to the mouth, and a strong yellow vertical patch on the tail.... but I need guidance to positively distinguish Japonicus from Nigricans.
Is there a certain way to distinguish them..?
