tang tank question

I think it depends on which you plan to keep. Also, what is the length end to end? Based on volume alone, I'd say I agree on about 3.

72" is too small in the long run; it's just not long enough for swimming room. Both of those tangs will outgrow that tank at some point in time. I've got four tangs in my 375 and I'm pretty sure I'll have to re-home some of them eventually.

Lol, 72" is plenty long enough. My only concern would be the skimmer. Of course EVERY owner with an 8' tank is going to suggest you have an 8' tank for tangs. General rule is 6', though. I had some in my 60" long 190g, even. If you upgrade the skimmer, the stocking can also be upgraded.

ive got a 72 x 30 x 24 tang dominated tang... 220 display with 110 sump/refugium and about 14 tangs plus some clowns and misc fish .. it runs perfect
