I'm noticing that over the last few days my yellow tang is picking at and looks like eating my featherduster when it's retracted? What's up with that and is there anything I can do about it? Is it normal?
If you feed him more and offer lots of dryed sea weed it could help. My chevron tang has done this a few times but I have never seen him do it when the duster was open.
Tangs will nip at algae, and there may be some on the featherduster tube. My tangs do the same thing, and only when the featherduster is retracted, and only occasionally. Feed him nori daily.
