I've got a purple tang and a scribbled rabbitfish. The rabbitfish keeps 'developing' scalpel marks in its side. So far (in less than a month) I have seen two gashes, but they don't seem to get infected (and seem to heal quickly). I maintained a tank with a purple and a foxface and there didn't seem to be any problems...
I have a foxface in my 125 with a yellow tang and powder blue. The FF was added last only because we were re-doing our 55 gallon and we had to get him out. The powder blue gave him hell for about two days. I really thought he was going to kill him. But he soon got over that and now everyone gets along great.
I have a one spot foxface in the 125 with my Scopas tang and they get along great. My son has a magnificant foxface in the 150 with a purple tang and they also have no issues
sorry to interupt it is just that every time I post it bumps down the previous post. just wanted to check if it would do it again. sorry for the interuption.
When putting the 2 fish togather keep this in mind.....they both get LARGE. Our magnificant foxface is 6"+ and the purple is rather large as well. If they in a tank they is too small they will very possibly have aggression issues. We only have the two togather in system over 100+ gallons with plenty of open space
In two seperate instances I tried putting in a Foxface with my Purple and Powder Blue and both times they ended up killing the Foxface. The first time the Foxface was smaller and fragile, so I figured late I would buy a larger one, but they still stressed him out.
