He looks severly malnourished to me. Is he eating heavily? If it is, it could be some form on internal parasite. Have you tried any PraziPro yet? Do you currently have any meds in the water?

You might want to try some New Life Spectrum fish food. It solved a lot of coloration issues in my fish. It might have a similar effect on yours.

It's hard to tell if your tang is malnourished or just damaged. Sometimes if the light hits my PBT just right he looks "boney" like your powder brown. Do you notice any weird behavioral issues with it? Like flashing or scratching? Is its poop white and stringy? When did you first notice that big swirly spot on its body?

Regardless, I would still feed some Spectrum as well. It may be a mechanical injury of some sort and scarring.

I was just wondering if it was a disease, moving at the end of the month and was seeing if they need treatment or can go in the main tank

I wouldn't worry about it then. It's probably an old injury that healed poorly. Like I said, I had a tang like this and after a few months of spectrum, he looked much better. That's not a scientific result though, so your mileage may vary :P
