Tangs together

I have a 150G tank and currently have a Yellow Tang that has been in the tank for about 1-1/2 months. I am considering getting a c. binotatus (Twospot surgeonfish), Yellow Eye Kole or a Tomini Tang (choices in that order). will the Yellow be too aggressive towards the bristletooth? another possible choice is the Clown Tang.

I recently just added a chevron (bristletooth) to my 150g system. Ive had a yellow in there for about 3 months he hasn't bothered him a bit. The chevron is slightly bigger. I always add fish at night not sure if that helps or not but I feel like it does.

All that being said, statistically speaking a yellow tang that is already there is suppose to be aggressive. I guess I just got lucky.

Try an acclimation box. Place the new fish in there and see how the yellow reacts. If he seems to ignore the new addition you're probably good to release after a few hours. If he's causing problems leave him in the acclimation box for a few days to see if it subsides. If it doesn't, and you have to take him back, its much easier to grab a fish already in a box than it is to try and catch one in your tank. FWIW, a Tomini is a very underrated fish in my opinion. Fairly docile for a tang, and their coloring up close is really nice. Many have orange spots/lines throughout their body and face as well as along their fins.

Exactly.

A Clown will not work in your system, unless you want a lot of dead tangs and a cramped Clown.

They get very large and have a temper to match.
