Tank already cycling?

I set up my 75 on Wed.

I put in about 35 pounds of live rock Wed and another 20 yesterday. The 20 pounds I know is fully cured, the 35 had been curing for about 4 weeks.

I checked my ammonia today, it came out at .50.

Has my tank already begun its cycle? If so, is it correct, I wait for the ammonia to get back to zero, and then do a good water change before transferring over my livestock?

Yeah I would guess it's begun it's cycle. You'll need to wait for both the ammonia and nitrite to reach zero before transferring over your livestock.

the cycle could of started already or it could of been a die off of the rock u just put in no telling where it is spikes will always accrue in the cycle time till you've reached 0'z all out your cycle is still going

It sounds like your tank is cycling. I would not add the livestock to the tank until Ammonia is 0, Nitrite is 0 and Nitrate is <10
