Tank at 10 months

yes, I don't have the 55G anymore. I'll be posting the specs in a moment. The 55G was run with 40W 6500K bulbs and 1 actinic 110W. I use IceCap ballast 660

About the system:
Lights: 4 40W T12 bulbs Phillips 6500K from HD
2 110W URI superactinics
The 40Ws lights are changed every 6 months and the actinics every year 1/2
2 IceCaps 660 ballasts drive the bulbs; according to IceCaps the 40W runs about 80W per bulb.

Filtration: Around 120# of LR and 5” sand bed mixed with play sand (silica) and aragonite, Coral Life Super Skimmer 125, Occasionally I run carbon and just started using phosban in a hang on filer.

Salt: IO since day 1, I’m currently using Red Sea Coral Pro (better cal, and alk) I bought it just because it was the same price as the IO. I might keep using it.
Water changes are done every 3 weeks 20G

Supplements: top off water with kalk 24/7, small adjustments of Cal, Alk and MG when using IO, I have not supplement anything with the red sea salt.

Fish: Sailfin tang, cowfish, watchman goby, starry blenny, tai spot blenny, 3 yellow tail damsels, pseudocromis purple, sandperch, 2 percula clowns, 1 black clown.

Food: once in a while I use kent phytoplankton and zooplankton. Daily a mixture of brine shrimp, mysis, plankton, formula 1 and 2, flakes, pellets, selcom and I just starting doing my own with shrimp, scallops, mussels, cyclopezze and squid.
I don’t target feed any of my corals.

My water chemistry is: PH 7.9 (morning) â€"œ 8.4 (by the end of the day), calc 400 â€"œ 450, alk 3 â€"œ 3.5 mql, mg 1200 â€"œ 1400, phosphates 0 (not sure about this one, I can't get a reading).

Not sure what else I’m missing :)

Beautiful tanks. What are the green stalky looking things sticking up near your zoos?

Thank you :), the green algea is some kind of calceaous algea, it seem to come and goes, this is the second time I've seen them in the 3 years of the LR.

great tank! I love the way all the corals are like growing into each other. you got loose polyps and shrooms poppin out of the zoas and stuff like that. Looks graet :)

:) now I know, not sure where they came from I got them both at the same time from the same place, the black one is from SITC, I think is from ORA, not sure thou. All three of them hang around they keep jumping from the torch and the goni (not happy about it), I got them an RBTA but they did not go in, I had to sell it because the anemone just kept moving around. I have them for about 6-7 months now

Thorny oyster

How long have you had it? Has it grown?

I have that torny oyster for about 6-7+ months now, but I don't think I've seen it grow. They seem to grow really slow.
