I'm sorry to report that after 7 days in hypo quarantine, one of my fish passed a 1-inch long tubeworm. I found it today floating in the water in the quarantine tank. The hypo QT tank is a bare tank with PVC decorations and no live rock. The worm had to come out of one of the fish. I honestly don't know whether it came from the GSM or from the Yellow Tang, but it came from one of them.
Over the past few days the YT has been pacing across the tank and he's been ravenously hungry. The GSM had a good appetite on the first day, but hasn't been eating well since then. He's been kind of lazy and just hiding in the rocks.
I started treatment of both fish in the quarantine tank with Praziquantel today. I just thought I'd pass this along, because if one of my new fish is harboring a parasite, there's a chance that one of its former tankmates might also be carrying a similar parasite.
I hope you guys still have your fish in quarantine.
