Here is the situation - I have a 210 with a yellow tang, hippo tang and spotted fox face. There is no issue in the tank, yellow tang is boss, fox face keeps growing. I have a second tank that has a large powder blue tang in it, who i was hoping would join the trio and a third tank that has a Naso, Powder brown and a Dejardini. Of the group the powder blue is likely the largest. Everything not currently in the 210 has had a shot at living in the 210g except the Dejardini and the yellow tang made it possible for me to easily later capture the wounded freightened new fish. I also tried the powder brown and Naso at the same time.
I am taking the smaller tanks down and the yellow tang is gone i guess. I am thinking also the fox face is gone just due to color variation of other fish is more desirable.
The easy play - remove/sell the yellow, fox, sell powder blue - replace with powder brown, blonde naso, dejardini in 210. The hippo tang is not aggressive, the other 3 are living somewhat peaceful now........ but I really would rather keep the powder blue.
2 concerns if keeping the powder blue /Naso / Dejardini (removing yellow tang and powder brown)- the powder blue will not live with the Naso and Dejardini in the 210 as well as the powder brown does in the smaller tank. 2. the hippo tang will either hide or be ran to death by the powder blue. When i introduced the powder blue before i never saw the hippo tang - really i never saw any of them they all just sit back and waited for the yellow tang to come fight.
I used mirrors, rearranged rock, dropped nets in the water in an attempt to distract the YT when i tried to add tank mates, nothing worked.
I would really like to keep the YT but can not seem to add anything to the tank now.
Any non-tang police thoughts on the combos?
