Tank Crawl?

I guess I can start with Hi Guys. I haven't posted here ever but I'm sure a ton of you know me. My name's Jess and I work at Zooquatic.

Since we have a summer head count now I just thought a tank crawl would be nice. I've only ever seen Matt's tank and I'd like to see what else is out there. Tyler and I just started up ours a couple months ago, not much in it though.

I guess just let me know if you're interested and we can try and find a good time?

i knew i was forgetting something. yeah, we're long overdue a good tank crawl. i'm good for whenever.

next sunday evening/night works best for me. i'm heading to richmond fri/sat to meet some reefers from maryland, and picking up some AMAZING zoa/paly frags. :D

I am getting some super cool purple people eaters and super cool paly frags from Atlantis. Therefore you should all think I am cool. I can't give you any frags cause you aren't cool enough. Word.

What?! Nobody is begging me for my super cool, limited edition, ultra rare, purple people munchers with awesome blue skirts and pink panties? (Can you say panties on RC?) Oh, I forgot, nobody cares about stupid crap like that except for ....... Edited by Agu

Now that I got that out of my system; everyone is welcome to drop by my place on the crawl. The tank will be moved upstairs in a few weeks though, so maybe I out to wait to unveil it in its new edition at the next meeting or something.

I'm old and slow dog but willing to learn new tricks. What in the world is a tank crawl!!! Went to ZQ yesterday and found out about this group from Brad...Thanks. wanted to touch bases with you folks and see if you would be willing to bring on another new guy? I just finished putting in the second part of the "package" from TBS and am just amazed. This is my first SW anything and had no idea that it could be this dawg gone expensive, time consuming and addictive. THIS IS NOT A HOBBY, ITS' A CAREER. Anyway, I'm loving every minute of it and would love to meed you guys and listen to real reef people talk "reef", BTW - I guess it's official, my daughters called me a reef nurd. Badge of Honor is my guess. Do you guys meet? weekly, monthly, quarterly? do you vote people in, dues, have to wear shoes, socks and shirts? Just kidding of course but how would a fellow go about joing?

tks...mark

Welcome hubblex5. The NRV reef is delighted to have you in the NRV reef club. There are no fees, dues or special dress. We normally meet when someone wants to host a meeting....it's normally once a month or so though. We meet at someone's place and stand around their tank and talk reef stuff or what ever other discussion comes up. Sometimes there will be free frags. There also may be refreshments or such but it is not a requirement. Members are welecome to attend meetings as they please.

Once again welcome and hope to meet you at a meet.

A tank crawl is when several members (feel free to join in) get together and go to serveral members houses to view their tanks....usually spending an hour or so at each place. It can go late in the evening/morning depending on how many places are visiited.

Thanks for the welcome(s), information and definition. In addition to setting up my first SW tank we really screwed up and jumped right into putting down new floors, remolding a bathroom, which led to something else, which led to yet another thing, etc, etc (you get the picture) but would really appreciate it if someone or someone's would mind dropping by to help me identify some items in the tank, review my "maintenance" schedule, go through a couple of test to make sure my color vision is working properly and to just let me know what else I need to be doing or not doing. Any time this week after 5:00 PM would be great. I live in Dublin along with a wife, 3 dogs and of course the "reef". The tank is 125g with a 47g sump. I purchased the 130g package from Tampa Bay Saltwater (TBS) which consisted of 260 lbs of LR, 130 lbs of LS, 130 Blue Leg Hermit Crabs, 65 Astrea Snails, 6 Tiger Tail Cucumbers, 3 Serpent Stars & 3 Peppermint Shrimp. In addition to the above, Richard from TBS sent some extras, 3 BTA's, some Shaving Brush Plants, a Blenny, a soft coral (maybe) and two other items that may be Rock Anemone's (not sure) which one of them looks pretty stressed (gaping mouth, kind of compacted and not real content). I'm really new at this so being gentle would be greatly appreciated. Anybody mind helping out?

m, that would be greatly appreciated, let me know a day and time, whatever your schedule will allow will be fine with me. I am also available this weekend (anytime) if you would like.

thanks again...mark

any day next week should be fine. this weekend is going to be full (i hope) of moving everything to my new tank. PM me directions, and let me know if you have any preference. as far as i know right now, i have none.

yeah, just got 2 from you (i'm not a morning person).

on the PM page you have 3 boxes, the 'in' box with messages people send you, the 'out' box with messages you sent, and the 'message tracking' box which tells you if it's been read yet by the recipient.
