you mean he is going to be aggressive to my other fish ? but he is just one man armyThat damsel will be a but head sooner rather than later, if he isn't already. Tanks looks nice though!
They are mean little guys. Nice HO fuge I wanted to get one for my last tank but wasnt sure about it.
Did you happen to cycle the Tank with the Damsel...if so that could be a reason why he died.
That damsel just died
I think I scared him to death. I moved to the rock behind him. And he couldn't hid back to his old spot. So he is literately died Like 1 second.
1 second later??
I'm very confused but I think that you either didn't cycle your tank or they have something like white spot (ick)
THere's a problem.
Most damsels require a 100 gallon tank. So he may have been stressed. But I'm suspecting problems other than fright.
The first thing into a new tank ought to be the cleanup crew. The fish should be 4 weeks in a quarantine tank. The cleanup crew should be alone in the new tank for 4 weeks while it breaks in.
It is possible your demised fish came in with the ich parasite. If so, your tank sandbed may now be infested. The way to get rid of ich in a tank is to leave it fishless (other species ok) for 12 weeks.
good them damsels are pricks...try some green chromis
I got 6 Chromise
This is not going to end well.
I forget to mention I got my tank set up almost 4 weeks prior I post the equipment page. And 1 week later I added a thing called bio spria from instants ocean which says adds huge amount of nitrified beneficial bacteria and start wokring immediately. So far the 6 chromies still alive and eat everyday. I don't know if they gonna be ok within next few weeks. But I will keep observe .This is all going too fast. Just a few days ago you asked if you had all the right equipment, running airstones and a HOB filter on your sump... Now you have 1 dead fish and 6 more added? http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=23125296#post23125296
It was the last thing I wanted to hear after I got my tank and stand, so I understand the eagerness and impatience, but you're 2-3 months ahead of yourself. The single BEST piece of advice I've picked up, no matter what, is to go slow. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2445640
I set up my tank in late July, with already cured and cycled rock from someone's tank shutdown, and I'm only just about to move my first 2 fish from QT into my main tank. Delicate life takes time. There isn't any shortcuts around nature's will.
