Question.

90G tank
110 lb live rock
80 lb live sand

Tank is now cycled.

I have 0 amm, 0, nit , 20-40 nitrate
Did a 40 gallon water change - but will do another to bring the nitrates down further.

Sump is still not activated.

Still no diatom bloom or any algae anywhere...

is this normal?

tank has been up and running for almost 4 weeks..
used liquid ammonia, and instant ocean bacteria to kick start.

thoughts?

when should i expect the diatoms/algae?

wow - okay - i will just stay put then.

I thought that was one of the signs of a start...

I can still put fish/inverts in yes?

diatoms start anywhere from 2 weeks to a few months. Algae can be anywhere from 2 weeks to a few months as well. All this happened to me very quickly. I also got cyano early on which was good cause my tank fought it off and now I don't have to worry about it for the future.
