Tank Divider for Anemone QT or HT

I was stuggling with suction cups, magnets, hot glue, etc...

I was trying to use a piece of 'eggcrate' with all of the above, to section off a section of my QT tank.

I found it difficult and annoying and I couldn't get any of the items to work well enough to keep the eggcrate in place.

So the other night I decided to build something "new", but I couldn't think of anything or a good way to do it... and then it hit me. I'm sure someone has done this before, but I couldn't find anything in the DIY section.

First I cut slots into 11" long pieces of 1" PVC using my table saw. The slots were just wide enough for a section of eggcrate to slide into.

I then drilled 2 holes in each piece of pipe and added suction cups. (leftovers from something...pump...gadget..)

I then stuck the pipes where I needed them.

Then I slid the eggcrate into the slots of the pipes.

That's pretty creative. You should patent that thing. Haha.

I searched around last night.. found some dividers sort of like them on eBay.

So.. no patent.. but I thought the members on this forum could use the idea.
I know I was completed frustrated with trying magnets, suction cups stuck on the end of the eggcrate. etc..

Very nice! I set mine up by making the egg crate "just fit" to the point that I could angle it in place, and use the tension to hold it.
