tank dividers

I was wondering what some of you use or used in the past
to divide a tank for different species of fish. Any ideas would be appreciated. And also what do you use to keep the divider in place.

We have a split acrylic 40B that has a black acrylic divider that runs from the front panel to the common overflow. It is glued in using acrylic cement. It has housed different species of mantis shrimp at one time, and different species of scorpionfish (currently).

Thanks for the reply, its for a QT tank. So I just want it to be divided temporarily.
