latazyo New member Jul 26, 2007 #2 I "THINK" the rule is that the distance from the edge of the tank to the center of the hole should be equal to the diameter of the hole so if you're drilling a 1" hole the edge of the hole should be no nearer than 1/2" from any edge of glass one thing to think about in addition to that is the bulkhead, you dont want to have to cut a little piece of trim out to accomodate the bulkhead so make sure the bulkhead and the hole fit without having to cut your trim
