Tank Established: Temp and Ph swing acceptable?

So my 50 gal has been running for @8 months now and all is rather well with it. I have a flame angel, watchman goby/shrimp pair, cleaner shrimp, chalice and frogspawn that appear to be doing well for over 6 months all together.

With my halide lights my temp swings @ 4 degrees daily. From 78 to 82 daily.

Although I know that absolute Ph isn't what most folks chase, my ph is generally 7.9 to 8.1 (on the high side) even though Ca and dKh stay where they are supposed to stay (Ca @420 and dKh 8-9). I top off with Kalk with ATO.

So are these swings in parameters too much for a Seabae nem or others? Do I need to examine more closely what's going on with the Ph?

This is my second marine tank in this house and neither has EVER had Ph over 82.

...and another thing. I read in the nem FAQ that 10k lighting may stress nems - is that true? I have 2 actinic+ bulbs with my 10k SPS halide. Any reason to worry?

My pH used to run that low, until I started opening windows. Didn't matter much either way. Regarding temps, others have run tanks with 4 degree swings w/o issue either.

Going back to PH, focus more on stable alkalinity, pH will take care of itself.

yah, I know to not necessarily chase PH by itself, just wondering the swing from an overall stability standpoint with nems.

I may open some windows just as an experiment. My wood burning stove actually brings in air from the outside to heat the house and I haven't noticed a change either way. Just for yuks the temp is reasonable enough to open windows - I'll see what that does. Maybe some other things.

Thanks for the note on the temp swings. I did notice folks had those swings and their tanks were doing OK - just wanted to make sure the nems would be OK with it.

Do I need to be worried about my 10k bulb? Is that really a problem with these animals (the FAQ listed that as a possible cause for stress).
