Tank glass cleaning

I read some people use water mixed with ammonia, and water mixed with vinegar. I tried both, and I can't get my tank clean enough.

I used RO/ammonia in the beginning. I noticed that there is a haze build up on the glass. I, then, switch to RO/vineger, this made everything worse. There was more haze that I couldn't get rid off.

Out of desperation, I used soapy towel to wipe the glass clean, and after that I used windex.

The tank has a glass cover. I used microfiber towels, and I spray on the towel away from the tank.

How do you guys clean the glass?

I use Windex and paper towel or sometimes just a damp paper towel. When using Windex, I also spray away from the tank area.

Kent scraper + mag-float for the inside , good microfiber for the outside. I never used water or any liquid on the outside glass. just a good rub with the microfiber cloth gets it crystal clear!

You mean an empty tank or one up-and-running?

For an empty tank I've had good luck with straight distilled white vinegar. Well rinsed afterwards of course.

If the tank is in use and you mean the outside, try finishing up with a microfiber towel and a little Windex/Zep. Many brands of paper towels have a little wax in them which means smear city. Kinda like using a kleenex tissue (skin lotion added) on eye glasses.

I usually just buff it with a microfiber cloth, but on occasion I use Windex on a paper towel and if it gets hazy a mix of 1/3 white vinegar 2/3 RO/DI water and then buff it with a microfiber towel.

I use windex sprayed on a cloth. Paper towels work well as long as you don't buy fancy ones that're coated with something. Microfiber cloths and the stuff for eyeglasses works even better but it's a little pricy. I don't mean this to be rude and please don't take it the wrong way, but are you sure the haze is actually on the outside glass?

i tried a lot of options but always come back to windex. just spray the papertowel or cloth well away from the tank.

I use homemade glass cleaner - water, vinegar and Dawn dish detergent.
I prefer a squeegee to paper towels, and then buff with microfiber.

RODI with paper towel first then finish with newspaper. Newspaper is amazing for finishing glass cleaning. I also use it when I do the windows of my truck.

50/50 mixture of vinegar and water works. No streaks when I do it. Maybe you need to clean it first with just water to remove a majority of the salt?

Coffee filters work better than any towel

Spray glass cleaner on the filter not a lot then apply to the outside of the tank

Inside I use a dedicated tank only mr.clean magic eraser but the regular foam one not the scented ones and a magnet cleaner

RODI water and a squeegee every couple of hours (we're a children's science museum :bounce2: )

For extreme cases, vinegar and water and paper towels. The rolled industrial stuff, basically newspaper...

I spray Windex on a microfibre towel and then use it to wipe down the tank. After it dries I go back with an old t-shirt and buff the streaks out. Works like a charm.
