Tank is up and running!!!!!!!!1

OK, tank is full, SG is 1.025 pump is running and circulating and 1/2 the rock is in. There is only one problem. It is vibrating like a nun's bedroom after dark. I would not necessarily say it is loud. It's just louder than I would have expected. I put a small carpet mat under the external pump but it doesn't seem to be doing much. Is this just something we need to get used to or is there ways to quite the vibration. I also fear that down the line the vibration can knock something loose, so hopefully there is something we can do to cut down on vibration.

Styrofoam!! HD. or lowes has it. Try a piece about 1 inch thick or so.

Paul like Stu said or get some foam board from work to try to put under the pump. If you can't fit something 1" thick get a couple scraps of ultraboard and try that.

May take you up on that nook. It may come in handy if it doesn't work. Nearly got divorsed today over the vibration. Becca is deaf so she wasn't complaining about the noise of course, but the vibration was driving her fruit.

What size piece do you need for that pump to sit on...smallest possible?

Try unplugging the pump and plug it back in a couple of times all my mag drives vibrate and this seems to quiet them down.Also a old mouse pad works great.
