Tank Leak

Is it possible for a tank to leak, but not show a salt line?

I was measuring my stand and discovered that the carpet and shims on one side of tank are wet. I checked inside and outside the stand and found no salt lines. The only equip. that I have is a HOB skimmer and Filter.
