tank mate for undulated trigger

I babysat an Undy who shared a 220 with a Fimbriated Eel, they seemed to tolerate each other....I would not recommend it though, I think the owner was just lucky they didn't kill each other...I agree with the post that said a rock makes the best tank mate for an Undy.

What about removing the undy to a seperate tank for a couple weeks maybe while youadd another aggressive fish in so he establishes a territory first? Or try the old eggcrate trick, but honestly, I don't think it will work. These are just suggestions, really I believe the undy should be in a tank all by itself unfortunately, or I would have one. I wonder how they do in the ocean, there must not be a fish within a few square yards of them!

I personally have an undulant trigger in with a 2' snowflake,a 2' green wolf eel, a black trigger, a squirrl fish, a panther grouper with no trouble at all I just made sure there was enough hiding places for them. been like this for a year now with no problems!!

Sohals need much more swimming room than a 100 gal tank. I still think you should keep him alone in that tank.

my older brother had a undy kill puffers groupers and anything else in the tank. the one thing that survived was a 2 to 3 foot long snowflake eel.

Its all an experiment!

danorth < --- another poster on here has a happy Undy with others.

I cant do it... my Undy kills everything!

That is the only question that I have posted and not found a person to have actually tried it.

I am not sure about that pair.

I had a V tail trigger for quite a while and thought that was going to be able to work... one day enough was enough...

My Undy has been in my ownership for 5 ish years now. I am not sure how people judge size... If I measured from head to tail end the fish is prob close to 7 inches now. Thicker than my thumb at the thickest part.

Extremely mean... not only killed all tank mates, anything else in the tank, heaters, pumps, ect...
