Tank may be crashing....changed sump!

I just recently replaced my old sump with a new one in order to fit my new Octopus XP2000 Cone under my display tank. Within 24 hours of hooking it up my tank has gone downhill fast! Corals are all shrinking and fish are acting stressed out. Just realized that the silicone that i used for my 4 baffles was GE II instead of GE I. Unfortunately it didnt say anything about any mold inhibitors or bioseal, and it said that it was 100% silicone. I did a 60 gallon water change as soon as i got home from work, and i am preparing another 30 gallon batch right now. My question is, will the silicone continue to leach into the water, or will it stop. My main issue is that tomorrow night would be the first chance that i could remove the sump (busy work week) and start working on replacing the silicone...then i would have to let it cure and reinstall it. It would be awesome if the water changes and active carbon reactor will fix my problem. Ideas???

OH no!. Seems this has happened a few times lately.

Might add Chemi Pure or some other type filtration there.

Poly filters and lots of carbon and w/c's. I'm sure you used cement on the pvc fittings maybe this could be it also? It could be the silicone I'm not sure I'd just get a big poly filter in there ASAP.

So sorry to hear. If you can, try to move your livestock to a QT tank while you're running carbon, polyfilters, and water changes.

Putting a poly filter in this afternoon. Its not cement because i didn't change any plumbing. I replaced my old sump with the same size sump except one that wasn't as tall. May not make sense, but my old sump was too tall to where i couldn't fit my new skimmer in it between the top of the sump and the bottom of the stand.

so are you gonna shave that silicone out and replace?

Well if i knew that filters and waterchanges would prevent any future problems i would leave it be because its a real pita to change it out and redo it with my work load i have this week. I was hoping that there was someone on here that has made the same mistake that i did that could tell me if it was always going to leech into the water, or if the initial damage is just the beginning. I had let the silicone cure for 4 or 5 days before putting it in the stand.
