Tank Move - Need Help... Pretty Please

Wish I could help and I truely think one of my freinds did hurt his back on this very tank!! He has since had surgery and still lives in pain :( He told us "after" he helped that he had a bad back. The awkwardness of a tank this heavy may have put it over the edge. I am so glad the club has the suction cups now! It was amazing how easy it was to move with the suction cups.... so I was told. I was on a flat tire run for the trailer!!

OK, I still after all this time on RC can't do the quote thingy but the vodka joke was way funny then the vodka 2 part joke was even funnier!

Good luck with the move and I am glad you guys found a place with a garage!

It looks like the 6th is stacking up better for people all around. So we'll most likely do it then instead. I'll be sure to let you all know when we nail that down tight. It seems like we've got quite a few people and I'm sure we can strong arm some of our non-fish friends into helping. We've already got a big ole boy named honky (a.k.a. big country) signed up to help.

I think I've pretty much PM'd everyone that volunteered earlier on in this thread, but I wanted to give this a little bump up.

I've talked to Rick and it looks like we'll be moving the tank at 10:00am this Saturday (the 6th). If anyone that didn't volunteer before would like to, I'm sure we can put you to work :) Just let me know.

If everyone can meet at our townhouse, it is at 2121 Hwy 12 S, Unit 72, Ashland City. If you need directions or get lost, give a call (six 1 five - 5 eight 4 - 1 two 1 eight). To get to the actual unit you take the first left inside of the complex and keep going until the road turns right. We're a few places down on the right. You'll need to park in front of the office (you'll pass mailboxes on your right on the way to our unit, just park there).

Once we're loaded we'll head to our new place at 186 Woodson Lane, Nashville (near the zoo). I figure we should be there around 11:30ish. By the time we unload we figure it will be lunch time... so pizza, soda, and beer (hey, it'll be after noon) will be on us.

I'm confirming with each person that volunteered earlier to make sure that we get 8 guys (I don't want to be short handed). I'll have some non-fish friends on deck if we come up short, but I need to know so I can give them some warning. So, if you've told me you'd be able to make it and you can't, please just let me know so that I can call in reinforcements.

Thanks!

Oh... and I know there is a sizable Murfreesboro contingent that is planning on coming and helping out (some I've confirmed with and others I haven't yet)... so maybe a carpool can be arranged.

Off the top of my head its Brandon, Norman, Chuck, and Wayne. Rick is from the 'boro as well, but he's coming from work (bless his heart). A regular reefing mini-road trip. Anyway... just figured I'd throw it out there.

Brian, I will be leaving from downtown Nashville just off the interstate and Shelby St. If Wayne and his riders want to meet me at work and ride that would be great. We have to come right back by on the way to the new place.

Just wanted to say thanks again to everyone who helped out with the tank move today. It appeared to go swimmingly. I know it was a long ride for some folks and I really do appreciate it.

It was a good time, and you know what?......there were about 10 folks there which means that about 10% of our club showed up to help a fellow reefer move a tank, and even some pieces of furniture. You all are awesome!!!!!

It was great seeing everyone. MTRC members are the greatest. Someone is always willing to help someone else with things big or small. Moriah & Brain thanks for the grub and drink! If you need any other help let me know, if I can I will be there.

We rented a Uhaul yesterday and so we've now moved everything but the two little tanks we have (getting those tonight. It was a good thing we took those couches and tables for the ride because that Uhaul was pretty much full to the brim.

Looking forward now to relaxing a little... as soon as I can find my couch :)

That's why I wanted 8 guys... one drops, trips, etc. there's another guy not far away that can take the weight. That sucks though... bad.

Goin off topic...

we needed those suction cups when movin' the glass for waynes in wall tank. I know it wasn't as heavy as your tank though. Speakin' of that, if you read this Wayne or anyone who's been there lately, is it runnin' yet? I think I remember you did a fill test but was gonna hold off on a full setup?

Steve
