tank move question

I've been out of the hobby for about seven years. I'm about to get back into it, and have been looking online for the right deal. I have recently come across a tank on CL that's a bit bigger than I was looking for, but at a great price. It's about an hour drive.

Here's my question. Is it possible for two guys to move a 150gal RR on our own, or is it just too much?

Since this tank is drilled will it be best to set it upside down in the back of the truck, or will that cause damage?

I already know I will need many blankets and probably some wood to help with vibration. Any other advice is great appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I've moved a 125 + stand with me and a buddy. I've also transported a 125 on it's top side because the bottom was drilled - no problems. If you have any doubts, I'd bring a third so that you don't end up leaving without a tank.

It really depends on how big the guys are, and how thick the tank glass is. When I bought my 156 gallon bowfront, my (adult son) and I could lift it. Keep in mind my nickname is "Big John" and my son makes me look small. Ask the seller if they would be willing to help get it into the truck if needed. If you need his help, you know you need to recruit someone else on the drive home to unload it.

seems like a fair price if everything is in good condition. standard 150s are fairly easy to move with 2 people. didn't look up the details, but I'm pretty sure that light uses 1 watt leds and will not grow corals.

The light is a concern for me as well, but it seems like it can be upgraded later once I get things cycled and where they need to be.

I purchased a used DSA 190 and was able to move it with just 2 people. Was it safe? Proly not, it took everything we had to keep it steady. I unloaded the tank onto some flat dollys by myself, again not recommended. Ask around and see if you can borrow or rent some of those glass suction cups.

Rented a U-haul trailer to transport the tank in, cost about $30. Lifting all that weight to the height of my truck talegate would have been a nightmare. The trailer with a ramp made things so much easier.
