Tank Noise

When pleasing my ear next to the acrylic tank I heard the slight but constant motor noise. Does this noise efect fish and corals or they get used to it ?.

That's a question that I've seen debated many times and never have I read of any proof of a definitive answer.

With that in mind I can definitely say that no one knows yet. How's that for a definitive answer?

What I will say is that it does'nt appear to harm them so they must adapt to or at least tolerate it.

Well maybe is because reefs are noisy by nature. Waves crashing etc.
