tank noises in rooms

Possibly, but the foam doesn't completely restrict air movement. I need to run a chiller anyways, and I havent noticed it running more than usual (my electricity bill did not go up after installing it).

my overflow until I crafted a strainer plate that cuts the noise to almost nothing beside that nothing else except for the snapping of my pistol shrimp

my cpr bakpak hands down. other than that my fans, but its not bad at all.

Interesting... my BakPak is almost silent. What's causing the noise?

Fans, hands down. Next loudest is the overflow, followed by the snapping shrimp!

I second that order, excluding the shrimp. I don't have one. All the rest of my sump and equipement is outside so there is no issue there! I too made silencers for stand-pipe. But with 3,000+ GPH dropping down 2x 2" pipe it can't be totally silenced. Plus there is the water dropping 1-2 " through the overflow grate. I just need to get quiter fans and then use some of that acoustic foam. With that I should be able to sleep next to the tank!

What noise. My tank is freaking silent. I can hear a slight hum of the fans when the lights are on, but they are all on the same timer.
