Tank pricing

So I am thinking of upgrading.

for my allotted space a 40 Long would be a perfect fit.

However the gap between a 30G and 40G is enormous

Locally 30G is 49.99
40 L 109.99
55 99.99

why is there such a gap in pricing? I understand supply and demand... but whoa

If you're looking at a 40 I would look at a 40b. The extra depth (front to back) is nice IMO. You can usually get them at the $1 per gallon sales for 40.

That's just it, not many people want a 40long. most people who get a 40 seems to go for a breeder because it is good for rockscaping. Personaly i have a 40 tall. in the grand scheam of things, an extra $60 for the 40 long is not much compared to the cost of all the other equipment and livestock for the tank. Just a drop in the bucket. I'd say go with the size and shape yo want, assuming you can afford it. If you try to save $60 by getting what you don't want, than you'll be kicking yourself in no time for it.

IMO, avoid petco's dollar per gallon sale. Their 40g breeder has the thickest, ugliest black rim ever.

Yes im also detered by the center black bar actoss the tops of the 55

True thanks for the info. I might settle for the 40b. Does that have the black bar across the top?
