Tank Purchase questions

I am going to get a new tank soon, my 125 is just too long for my living room. I want to keep roughly the same volume size maybe a 36" x 30" x 24". I also want to get a reef ready tank that is pre drilled. Pet smart doesn't really have what I am looking for and the LFS want $1000.00 + for that size of a tank. Anyways I was looking to order from Glass cages. Are there any other places to get a tank from without spending 1000? I am on a budget.

Thanks
B.

Don't you have any local "reef" stores around that sell AGA. I purchsed a 90 gallon for $279.00. It the tank you want acrylic? That is the only way I can see a 125 costing 1K.

I am not sure what kind it was, but on most of them it included the stand and hood, and all of them was over 1k. I think most of them were 75 to 150 gal. Some of them may have been acrylic. I just thought they were way too expensive & they were not the dimensions that I was looking for. Actually now that I think about it some of them were bowfronts. The LFS that I looked at seems to be the most expensive in town. I will check some of the other LFS.

It sounds like highway robbery to me. Even with the overflow kit and glass tops etc that I bought for me tank only raised the cost another 60 dollars or so. But the stand cost more than the tank did. The stand for the tank cost right near $500.00. If that 1 grand included the stand and canopy it could cost near a grand. I opted for no canopy because of the light fixture. I didn't want to go retro's and I like the look of the lights. Additionally I didn't want to chance the hood Because I would probably have to get a chiller and I don't want a chiller in the family room.

Pat
