Wow, a Purple Heart. I salute you. I'm just trying to figure out what the medal to the left of it is.

thank you. I actually can't take credit for any of those. My husband is the one who risked his life for 8 years to get those. He's gotten 3 purple hearts and the medal to the left in the glass cabinet, the one I think you're asking about, is a Bronze star for Valor. The flag on the mantle was given to him from Colin Powell. We have an autographed book from him and he personally wrote my husband a letter that is also on the mantle. we don't know Mr. Powell personally, but a customer of ours was his personal secreatary back in the day years ago and she's the one who got the ball rolling on my husband getting his medals and the flag.

Definately not in the same league as most of these, but this is my 120.

I wouldn't even go there....this setup ROCKS....love the enclosure!!

Thanks Racenrich. There are some awsome setups in this thread.

The enclosure is the result of a complete kitchen remodel. We had the cabinet makers include cabinets in this breakfast room while they were making them. It was designed in a fashion that should the tank ever leave, the unit it is in becomes a server.
Sometimes comprimising with your bride does work!!

These photos are from my tank at home and the surroundings. I love this place

I love the security camera pointed directly at the tank!

This is going to take some imagination...

If anyone has a time machine, I'd love to borrow it and get a picture to post now. Otherwise, it's going to be about 6 weeks :)

6 weeks? thats not bad at all. can't wait to see it! I take it this will be the fish room? Approximately how big will it be and what size tank are you building for

This is actually where the tank will sit. I's going to be a 120g Oceanic with a custom stand. The fish room will be on the other side of the stairs, and have the sump, ATO and evenually a frag tank. Here is a pic of the fish room:

It's about 5 feet wide and about 12 feet long. I'll have to do some arranging...

There's a lot more detail on stuff over in my build thread. Click the red house if you'd like to check it out.

yea definately. Do you think that 5" wide fish room will be wide enough. Think about when you put in your sump and everything else. it will be tight for space in 5'? no??

I just went down and measured. It's actually about 5'7". Still tight, but I will make it work. The sump will only be about 24" wide, and down toward the end of the room. I am planning a small workbench at the end of the area, and the sump will be right next to it, making an L shape. That is the beginning of the plan at least.

I decided the tank needs to be where I spend my time, at the computer. The main tank is somewhere;), where did I put that thing??

Uh, are you kidding?!! Kick butt setup and beautiful tank. I could sit there, drink coffee and enjoy the scenery.

Although I am jealous, I'm getting ready to start my build out. I have a formal dining room in my home and I'm converting it into a bar. Now the capper is that I'm going to have a show tank behind the bar with a full set up in my kitchen.

Pics to come. Here are the starting shots.

The tank will be installed behind the bar where the crosses are.

Will you be viewing the same tank from both rooms? Sounds like an interesting project. Post some pics when you get goin.

You'll be able to see it but it won't be 2 sided. I'm trying to put all of my plans together for it and then I'll post the design when it's finished.
