Tank Sealant

I stacked cinder blocks under mine. I never was good in wood shop, but give me some LEGO blocks. lol :-D

Eric if you haven't already looked, take a look at your tanks and all of the stand they have in the LFSs. You will be shocked. Probably 95% of the material used in the wooden stands are just to make them pretty looking/cabinet like. Very little in terms of actual structure.

Trust me guys, carpentry is NOT my forte! I can do plumbing and electric all day, but if a bird flew into a house I made for it it would be toast in minutes... probably get impaled on a screw or the whole thing would just collapse...lol.

I know many of the stands that get sold are iffy. I have heard the particle board ones in particular can get pretty worn out once water is spilled on them repeatedly. If I had to set something up and didnt have a decent stand I would probably go with cinder blocks as well. I would never trust a stand that I build to support itself and theres no way it would ever be level!

I don't doubt that most people could do it pretty easily though. Im a big DIYer and buy a ton of used things and retro fits, but I also know what things I dont ever want to do- hang a door again, do my taxes... some things are better to pay for
Cheers!

lol... that is so true on hanging the doors Bob... when we were selling our house we replaced the inside doors and it took literally like an hour or more.. just to hang it.. because when the house was built they put shanks or something in the frame to make the door able to close without rubbing but it was not even with the wall so my husband had to make it perfect... he got so frustrated i thought we would be selling the house with no doors.

hehe... yea I tried to install a screen exterior door when I bought my place. most of the hardware was already in place so I figured it would be an hour job at most... four hours later and a ton of frustration it was in place. two weeks and even more frustration later the door was barely fitting and the metal screws had already ripped out. I have had a ghetto rigged door ever since and have to occasionally replace the zip ties holding it all together... gaa

I plan on paying someone soon to replace it... my house was a real fixer upper when I got it. I spent months making it livable, but that project was the worst.... never again.
