Tank Setup

Well in a few days the tank is going up on its stand, but I am deciding what I should do or not, the stand is custom built, so do I put padding under the tank as I sit it on the stand? Or leave it the way it is?

I think a 1/4" piece of rubber or horsemat might be a good thing to keep the tank level and keep it from sliding.

I thought you only put somehthing under the tank if the Glass it's self sits on the wood? My tank has foam under because it is made like an acrylic tank. but yours has the trim on the glass which should be its main support. That tank only needs supported around the outter sides.

That is what I am thinking to Lonnie, it has the trim whic keeps the glass up off the bottom, so I may just leave it the current way and not stick anything under it.

you put foam under your tank if you suspect that the stand or tank is uneven in anyway. The tank settling in the foam is better than creating a pressure point. if you don't you know what happens next. If you can I would put foam between anything custom made because nobody is perfect.

I hear you Dennis, I am going to do some more reading. When I had my 75 up, I never put anything under it, it was fine for over a year.

Mark, I don't think you have much to worry about that 200 is built like a tank. It is all about how nice of a surface you built for it :D

I hope it fits. :D
