Tank size and Squamosa

There is a 9" squamosa for sale locally and I'm wondering if i can fit it in my tank for the next year and a half until I finish school and can upgrade. I have a 40G breeder with about 65g total water volume in the system. Its all sps and I dose b-ionic 20ml alk and 23ml calcium daily. I have a 3" deresa and a 2.5" maxima in there now with a bunch of medium size sps colonies. Do you think the squammie would cause major problems in the next year? and how much bigger do you think it would get by fall 09? Space is not an issue. I will get rid of stuff so the clam has enough room. Thanks

9inch is big squamosa grow fast up to 5 inches in one year. I have a 6 inch dersla and 9inch giga 4 inch gold tear drop maxima and antoher dersla in my 75 total water about 90 gallons. I am sure others will put there in put nice find buy the way

Don't underestimate the amount of calcium and alcalinity that a clam of these size can removed from your water... You will be surprise. Larger the clam is, faster the Ca and alk decrease in the tank.

I wouldn't try it, it is going to grow and use alot of calcium. It should be in a bigger tank.

Out of curiosity how fast do you think a squamosa that size can grow?

minimum 4cm, maximum 8cm per year
