Tank Size for Blue Spotted Ray

Whats the minimum tank size required for a blue spotted ray? And what other fishes can you keep with it?

The comment at the bottom from a user says he has one doing well in a 900L (234g) with a lot of open sand; 40cm long, feeding 4-6 times daily, but that it is a big impact on the bioload.

LiveAquaria says 150G ( http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=289&N=0 ), but they're usually more interested in selling than fish health. I'd say 250-300 sounds about right for simple survival.

Whats the smallest tank you can have to put a ray in? The LFS told me i could put the blue spotted ray in a 60 gallon :mad2:

The LFS also told my friend that a purple tang can go in his 12 gallon nano

How about the ocean, of course that is just my opinion. Everything I have read on these says their surviaval rate is very poor in the home aquarium. Not only are our aquariums too small, but they are hard to get to accept food. Check out Energy's stingray tank thread on here. His tank is 1700gals and IMO is very extensive and a cut above most people's tanks. These creatures along with sharks should be left in the ocean.
