Tank size

I am thinking about starting a tank for a picasso pair and a RBTA but not sure what tank size I will need to have for them to be happy.

Thanks,
Ron

A 29 gallon tank would be a good starter tank and would provide enough room for a pair of clowns and a BTA. You will want to let the tank become established over a period of at least 6 months before adding the BTA. Perculas often are hosted by BTAs in aquariums, but there are no guarantees. Entacmaea quadricolor is not a natural host anemone for perculas. Do your research for E. quadricolor (bulb tip anemones), they are more demanding than most fish species, but a good starter host anemone species and hardier than the others.

Thanks for the info. I have done some researh on the bta vs. the carpet and decided to go with the bta to start and after a time with that I might get a carpet but I want to be confident that I can keep one first. I don't want to kill one because of ignorance so I thought a bta would be a good starter for me.:fish1:

Yeah, they're nice anemones. And, you might be able to find a tank propagated RBTA. Those are especially hardy as they haven't been through the rigors of collection from the wild and transport. You wouldn't want to have a BTA and carpet in a 29 gallon. One pair of percs and a RBTA or two would be plenty.

Yea I know I wouldn't want them in a small tank a carpet needs a larger tank that a 30 gal. I meant that once I am confident that I can keep a bta alive I might upgrade to a larger tank and get a carpet instead of a bta.
