Tank sizes for angels?

Is there a chart similar to the tang chart identifying the best tank sizes for angels (large and dwarf)? When doing research, I don't like trusting fish store recommended sizes.

not that i know of, although i did suggest it to the RC mods when the tang one was being done, i have not seen a definate yea or nay but one or two did comment positivley about sending the info/request to others... iam very interested in seeing one developed

on a side note live aquaria recently revamped their tank size recomendations for the large angels in which i believe imo to be more inline with the real world applications rather than fish selling website applications..again thats only my personal opinion

From personal experience I think most of the dwarf angels do well in a 75g or larger. I will never again purchase a large angel. My biggest tank is 180g and the emperor I had grew to almost 10 inches in length and did not appear to be doing well. He spent a lot of time sulking in a corner. He was also a heavy bioload and very sensitive to water quality. I had trouble with my nitrates and he developed a nasty HLLE which scarred him up something fierce. If you can keep water quality pristine and don't want a lot of fish in the tank the 180 might be sufficient. For myself, unless I'm able to get an 8' tank, I will not purchase another emperor or any other angel that is comparable in size.

For smaller argi complex angels you would be fine with a 40g at the smallest, IMO.
