Sitting here, bored at work on Christmas Eve, and thinking about some tank designs for a future house of ours. Plan would be 33 gallon cubes in each of three bedrooms on the second floor of our house, and then 2 large tanks and a medium size tank the first floor, with a sump in the basement. My plan in my head would be to pump to the second floor, have those overflow to the tanks on the first floor, and those overflow to the sump in the basement. How would this work? Would I use a separate pump for each of the tanks upstairs? I think I would have to, because of the head involved pumping up two stories. Any other movement in the tanks would be supplied by powerheads. I would also like every tank to be controllable, which I'm assuming an apex would be able to do. All of this is speculation, with nothing purchased and still in the early planning stages, like I said just bored at work! Any thoughts?
