Tank Temp

Does everyone have a chiller? A heater is a must I'm assuming. Out here in AZ, I don't run either because its either to hot or to cold outside to open the windows much. The most my tank will fluctuate in a 24hr period is 2 degrees. I'm contemplating getting a 300G to replace my 190G, but I'm kinda scared about the temperature issue. Also do you guys have an issue with humidity? If so, how do you control it?

Thanks in advance.

i use fans and a 250w heater to control my temp. and the fans are only needed in the summer and the heater works hardest now for obvious reasons lol. my tank is in my basement and the ambient temp is pretty stable. my lights are 2x 250w MH and they sit 6" above the water. as for evap. its not too bad i dont have a hood, a 5g bucket lasts me 2-3 days.

I dont run a chiller... But in the summer I run my AC on hardcore. I use a fan and yes I do have a heater I should probably add another one, because this weekend I decided to forget its January and fell a sleep with two windows open and my heater struggled to keep my temp in the set range I have for the tank.

nice ive been meaning to get another heater to make the temp even more stable.

Cool. Thanks for the reply(s). I really dont want to buy a chiller. How many watts of heating would you guys recommend for a 300G?

Summer
Chiller is a must for me currently have 1/3hp chiller, hood fans, under the tank stand fans, fans in the fishroom, office central air in the summer during office hours.

Winter
Three heaters connected to my AC3 soon to be Apex, One temp controller with a heater all for redundancy.

Can never be too careful.

Controller also passively controls temp with lights off on hi temps and lights on if heaters fail and temp falls to below heater on range.

I had planned and implemented on lowering the tank temperature as a seasonal change, but i dont think my clam is liking the change. The office ambient temp is low bringing the tank temp to the low temp setting ~76.5

Well, I decided to make my low to 78 degrees even if my heaters need to work overtime.

Just me thinking...,
