Tank to Sump Ratio?

Whats the tank to sump ratio?

I am designing my new 225g system......wondering how big the sump should be.....

there is no ratio, it needs to be big enough to hold your equipment intended to be in it and that's it. if space permits the larger the better only because it adds more tank volume.

yep, the bigger the better. No set ratio. The important thing is that the sump is more or less designed around the equipment you plan on keeping there.

Same thing with how much flow through your sump.......tnk size doesnt matter, what matters is how big of a skimmer you are using and how much wter it processes. No use sending any more water through your sump than you skimmer can process. The goal being as little unskimmed water making it back to the tank as possible.
