First off, i wanted to thank you again mike for all the help!! Well, just wanted to update, its been over a month now, and, well, the tank is doing awesome!! I ended up liking the idea of a rubbermaid sump and kept it, so, i have a 55 gallon DT with a 25-30 gallon sump with a nice sandbed and live rock. Now for the tank:
Since I have left back to afghanistan, my zoa colony and GSP have grown alot, seeing the pic my wife just sent me. The livestock is as follows:
1 baby 1" hippo tang (in about 12-15 months will be rehoming him and getting another baby, so look for the adoption thread later)
1 bi color blenny
1 maroon clown (hosting the GBTA)
2 green chromis
2 cleaner shrimp (never leave each others side)
Clean up crew:
22 hermits , blue leg
12 nas. snails
10 certith snails
20 dwarf cerith snails
2 zebra turbo snails
8 periwinkle snails
Corals:
zoa colony, has grown in one month
GSP , also has grown alot
green stripe mushrooms
GBTA, is doing excellent and loves being hosted by the clown, as you can see in the pic it is very healthy!
When i get home in 2 months i plan on only getting one or two LPS, preferably a hammer and bubble, and using mostly SPS, I am planning on getting a nice sized piece, like 5-8 inches from you guys or the critter, i havent decided which one to get. Then i plan on putting two lps at the bottom on each side, away from everything and eventually getting two clams (months from now ) for the very front. I am done with fish, although i think i would like a dracula goby maybe. so, the top and back will be loaded with sps. To my surprise my wife has been doing an excellent job taking care of such a complicated thing, I told her and showed her everything before I left and also says that she likes it, which makes me happy, seeing how this is an expensive hobby, its always nice to have your wife on your side, especially when making purchases!:rollface:
perimeters are as follows(well, what she knows how to test)
zeros across the board, amm., nitrates, nitrites, phosphates
salinity 1.025
when i get home ill start monitoring calcium, mag. etc and update again.
let me know what you think!
