Tank Update

Hey everyone,

As some of you know, I've been in the process of paying off my university, and engagement debt for a couple of months now. As of early January I will be debt free, and was looking to purchase my 39 gallon CAD nano tank. The poor economic state of our nation hasn't affected the company I work for too badly as of yet. However, after speaking with HR yesterday, March is going to be a pivotal month for us as we begin to find out our budgets for 2009 and just how much our clients are looking to spend in a year which is sure to be worse than 2008. That being said, instead of purchasing some of my tank via card, I've decided to wait so I can buy it solely with cash, and put the rest away for long term-savings (towards a house, or god forbid if I'm laid off). It may take me another two months to be able to have the cash ready to purchase my tank. I hope you all don't mind me coming to the meetings until then, so I can still be a part of the reefing community and in the know about what is going on. I promise, soon I will have a tank to talk about.

It was great meeting you. I must say, it's a very wise idea to hold off until things are stable, and excercising the self control to avoid instant gratification is impressive. :thumbsup:

Brad, it was nice meeting a fellow Petaluman the other day. I don't claim to speak for the club but I have no problem with you coming to meetings, and I personally enjoy listening to anyone who enjoys the hobby. Part of the process is getting things together and making informed choices and you seem to be going about things the right way. Plus if you get really bored you can always come over and clean my tank for me

Thanks guys. I'm going to start saving for my tank January and hope to have it by March. Just need to save a little more $ incase the economy continues to dive.
