Tank Upgrade....
Hey guys! I just joined today! My question is .... I purchased a 140 gallon show aquarium last week. I currently have a 80 gal. mixed reef, no sps. Mostly Zoo's,leathers, shrooms, and a few lps(galaxia, favite brain,duncan,&trumpet.).

I have the tank set up with brand new R.O. water and 80lbs. of base rock.
The temp. and salinity is identical to my current 80 gallon display. My question is, do i go ahead and add the 150 lbs of live rock and corals i have in one move or do i break it up in a couple of steps? My display has a nitrate reading of about 40ppm. Thats why i dont want to use the water out of my current tank.
The current tank has a built in sump in the rear of it. I think between the rear sump and being completely packed with live rock is the reason i cant keep nitrates down. I'm not saying its a bad design, its just not good for my situation.
The new tank: 140 show, RR-Oceanic
Oceanic model 2 sump(no Bio balls)
Danner 1200 gph return pump
Nautilus Te turbo skimmer,Rio 2100 pump
Dual 300w visi-therms
Aqualight Pro-2x150 MH 10k,430&470 Pc actinics,3 LED Moon

Old tank: 80 gal acrylic rear sump.
Makeshift 3 gal refugium
Rio 3100 return pump
USS Skim jet skimmer, maxi jet 1200
300w visi-therm
400w MH 20k
modded maxi jet( which i find really impressive)
150 lbs fiji rock
100 lbs sand and CC mix (? bad idea?)

Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks, Spanky
