It was total BS. They did everything wrong - was that tap water they were using and ice from a machine - really? I felt bad for the fish. Acclimation? Cycling? Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!! :eek2:

I could barely stand those people too - the guys or the clients. I'm not sure I can watch that ever again (or at least I won't admit it).

Hmm, didn't see any corals.............wonder why?????? Even I have a frag of sps!!! All those damsels and tangs and foxfaces??? WHY??????? Damsles need like 6cubic feet each. I wanted to slap that guy upside the head, like he did to that poor dogface puffer!
They are good at acrylic, i"ll give them that; but these guys shouldn't handle livestock.

Man they must plant half the fish they put in without cycling..........Its probably built into the cost of the job or they use a ton of chemicals, that is scary. They never do corals, but the do have a customer base paying 10-20k for a fake coral insert lol. Still have yet to see a tank with those look good that is not maintained daily by a good fish guy. They end up algae filled and looking like crap in 90 % of the tanks I have seen. So tank building they are top in the industry as far as what they have built quantity wise but quality wise I personally would use Dominick in PHX to build my acrylic if I wanted one. Life support and husbandry I would say 90% of hobbyist do it better, and what I saw was simply insane. Right from the shipping box to the tank filled and salt mixed hours prior. Boxes there before the tank is completed!!!! The tap really is not as big of a deal since they are doing fish only, but the fish guy will hate the cyano and algae he is wiping down lol.

I'll bet a place like vegas recycles their water, that means tons of chlorine in the tap.
I wonder how many fish made it with the lack of cycling and huge bio load.
Also not very good mixes of fish long term. Squirrels, a trigger! and the puffer in the phone booth tank with all those little fish! Snack time.

Haha as I was watching this show and thinking how insane these ppl are, I thought to myself "these guys are gonna get so much crap on RC" lol +1 on their awesome acrylic capabilities but it was killing me to see all of that beautiful livestock pretty much being sentenced to death. It seemed like they have a retail store in one of the episodes so you would think they would know the husbandry part of it but unfortunately it seems like they don't. Cool to see the insane builds but sad for the livestock. .02

Well i wouldn't call it no knowing. It more like money talks sadly. Rich people and businesses want it up running and stocked so you have people willing to make the cash and subject the fish to these conditions. Putting fish in is one thing but putting in to full capacity man I couldn't do that to the poor fish..Even if they live they will be in some stress for at least a month:headwalls:

That thought occurred to me also. I watch cooking and home shows and they always have some kind of extreme deadline - pretty unrealistic.

I was watching the one where the guy gets scuba certified. A 4 tank quarantine system in wall was $30K! I'd have done it for only $20K.....
