Tankerblades First Tank 29G

So, been lurking for quite some time over the past several years on and off. And the time has come to finally start a build. Now its going to be a rather slow build, so this is more for me to document my journey, so feel free to comment and or criticize/assist however you please.

So right now im still in the planning stages. So not much has happened. My tanks used to be freshwater for quite some time so ill be using them to make a single tank.

Plan right now, although still incomplete, is to use the standard 29g tank with a standard 10g tank underneath as a sump.

Primary stock is going to be a fish or two, more then likely a clown and a goby if the size is sufficient (still need to do alot of research on that aspect) and have a number of softy coral like frogspawns (i believe. Again need alot more research in that aspect).

For the set up, i plan on drilling the tank for the overflow (possibly beananimal style) have it run down to a filter sock, through a small refug, then have a return pump gated (mag 7) and a Aquamax HOB 1 skimmer hanging on the side of the tank opposite side of the refuge.

Plan on having about 1.5-2.5" of med sized sand and a decent bit of rock to fill the back wall with ledges and whatnot for the coral. I plan on using mainly "dry" rock and sand, and seeding it with a few lbs of live rock and waiting the extra few weeks for it to cycle.

Still researching lighting and powerheads, but i dont think i will need much in terms for power, but i think softies need a bit more flow. So we will see what happens

Any updates on this?

Make sure to read/browse through the nano tanks section of the forums. Might be a lot of good tips there for you.
