Well after my ups and downs and TONS of help from all of you guys my tank is finally where I want it. Temp stays between 76 and 79 under my two 250w MH 6500k.
PH: 8.2
Salt: 1.021
Nitrite: 0

If peoples offers still stand in helping me get it growing I would LOVE some frags of anything. I will be in st. louis this upcoming weekend. Thanks SOO much to Chelsey for helping me start it off with everything so far.

Here is a full tank shot

This is how I keep the tank cool with those MH's. I use two boxes for now which direct the AC flow to the sump which cools it surprisingly well.

Thanks again everyone!

Tank has been running for two weeks with about 60% of the old water, old live sand and either my old live rock or the rock chelsey sold me that was in her sump.

I would bring your salinity up to at least 1.025 Your temp is on the low side .

With that said I have a few starter pieces you can have .

Salt is currently on its way up slowly! and is that temp really too low? It is easily enough raised thats for sure with these MH's on such a small tank

I agree. I'd shoot for 1.025 because with a 40 and those lights you'll have alot of evaporation. 1.026 idealy but that's if you think you can keep it...IMO

That temp seems low especially with 2- 250's. What are using to gauge temp? I'd go more to the 78-82 range

I would agree that temp is on the low side. 80 - 82 is best IMO because then you have a bit of a buffer. If something goes wrong, you can you go down or up 4 - 5 degrees and still be in the healthy zone. If you had a 3-4 degree drop from 76 or 77, you'd be in trouble. I shoot for 80.
